Former Arlington Police Officer, Robert Phillips, was indicted on a murder charge by a Tarrant County Grand Jury on Thursday.
Phillips was charged with first-degree murder for the October 20, 2021 fatal shooting of Jesse Fischer.
A slow-speed chase between Arlington PD and a white Jeep was ending in a cul-de-sac when the driver, 40-year-old Fischer, began traveling in the direction of Officer Phillips.
Officer Phillips started shooting through the windshield of the Jeep at Fischer, killing him.
Phillips was fired two days after the shooting for violating department policy.
He faces five to 99 years or life in prison.
