Four Suspects Arrested In Connection To Shooting Death Of Man During Home Invasion

Four suspects have been arrested in connection to the death of a man killed during a home invasion robbery Sunday.
Officers responded to a shooting/home invasion call on the 3100 block of Cliff Creek Crossing Dr and when they arrived they found David Damato,21 laying on the floor deceased from multiple gunshot wounds.
A witness told police that they were awoken out of their sleep to the sound of glass breaking so Damato grabbed his handgun to check out the noise.
He was met by four suspects, he was able to shoot one of them and then another suspect opened fire striking Damato multiple times while the others ransacked the apartment.
They then fled the scene before officers could arrive and transported the injured suspect to a nearby hospital where he underwent surgery.
Officers were called to the hospital and able to detain all of the suspects.
During the investigation they admitted their part in the slaying of David Damato and were taken into custody.
Josiah Andrew Salinas,19 and Damarte Tremayne Burt,21 were booked into Dallas County Jail and charged with capital murder.
A juvenile suspect was also charged with capital murder and booked into Dallas County Juvenile Detention Center.
A fourth juvenile victim has also been charged with capital murder but remains in the hospital.
This investigation is ongoing.
