Garland police are investigating after a car crashed into an apartment building and caught fire early Sunday morning leaving one person dead and another injured.
On February 5, shortly before 12:30 a.m., officers and firefighters responded to a call on the 4600 block of Saturn Rd regarding a car crashing into an apartment building.
Upon arrival emergency crews began evacuating nearby residents from the building while firefighters put out the fire.
While evacuating the apartment units first responders noticed two people inside the crashed vehicle. Both were suffering from gunshot wounds and transported to a local hospital.
One of the victims, 22 year old Quincy Lee Branch, was pronounced dead at the hospital. The other victim, a 19 year old male, suffered non life threatening injuries and is expected to survive.
Garland police have no suspect(s) at this time but say they are treating this incident as a murder.
