Grand Prairie Maintenance Worker Shot And Killed By Resident On Christmas Eve After Being Mistaken For A Burglar

A 53 year old apartment maintenance worker was
fatally shot on Christmas Eve after being mistaken for a burglar.

On December 24 officers were called to the Clayton Point Apartments located on the 2900 block of Alouette Dr.

Upon arrival they found the victim, Cesar Montelongo, on a residents balcony suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries,

According to reports Montelongo was checking the balconies for frozen waterlines after several pipes had ruptured.

That’s when the resident allegedly saw Montelongo grabbed his gun and shot him through the window.

Authorities say the resident stayed at the scene and is being cooperative. No arrest have been made at this time.

This shooting remains under investigation.
