Hip-Hop Dancer Bruno “Pop N Taco” Dies At 58

Bruno “Pop N Taco,” the hip-hop trailblazer and dancer, has passed away.

Diana Wolgamott, the choreographer’s sister, stated that he died on Saturday, at his residence in Long Beach, California. She added that he may have experienced a heart attack. Sources say that his death was listed as natural, and no autopsy will be performed.

Throughout the 80s and 90s, Bruno was often observed on the dance scene. He was known for his style he made out of his own in locking. He made it popular in the movie “Breakin” as he played the character, Electro Rock 1, alongside Ice-T.

Bruno also played in “Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey,” “Thumbelina,” and “Moonwalker.” He is probably most known as being one of the dancers in “Smooth Criminal,” as he was a part of the lean dance sequence.

Reports note that Bruno taught Michael Jackson a little bit about popping and locking which MJ could often be see doing. To add, he worked on choreography during MJ’s HIStory tour in the 90s.

Bruno has danced with other members of the Jacksons, including La Toya and Janet. He was also in music videos for Lionel Richie, Chaka Khan, and other artists.

Bruno was 58.
