26-year-old Rodney Richardson has been accused of using dating apps to arrange meetings with individuals who he is said to have raped and robbed.
Richardson is now facing multiple charges in Prince County, MD. These include rape, kidnapping, handgun offenses, and armed robbery.
Detectives say that Richardson used a fake name to arrange the meetings via Tinder.
In one occurrence, on Feb. 2, Richardson met a male victim and carjacked him at gunpoint.
Authorities say that during the incident, Richardson also took the victim’s phone and wallet.
Then, on Feb. 10, Richardson is accused of meeting another male victim he met on a dating app. On Sunday, authorities learned of the incident.
The victim had met up with Richardson at a church and then left with him and went to his home.
Once there, Richardson is said to have tied the victim’s hand, forced him to lay down, and started to rape him at gunpoint. The following day, Richardson made the victim drive to a bank and withdraw $4,000.
On Monday, Richardson was apprehended in relation to the crime and is still in police custody.
Authorities believe that there may be more victims, and an investigation is continuing.
