On July 24 officers responded to a call regarding a woman being shot by a self inflicted gun wound on the 2100 block of Lottie Lane.
Upon arrival officers found the victim, 46 year old Kimberly Knapp, laying on a bed suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.
She was quickly rushed to John Peter Smith hospital where she died from her injuries.
At the time there was a male in the house, who was identified as 32 year old Rance Ray Magby. While detectives were investigating they found evidence for them to believe that Magby was responsible for the fatal shooting.
A warrant for Magby’s arrest was obtained and he was taken into custody without incident. He is being charged with murder and held with no bond.
