On Friday, a man accused of robbing at least 13 food trucks, around Houston, Texas, was apprehended.
Initially, on Twitter, Edenilson Benavides-Cornelio, was named as the suspect. A little while after that, Houston authorities arrested him. He is facing a charge of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.
Benavides-Cornelia is said to have robbed a dozen food trucks from Aug. 9 to Aug. 21. In one instance, he was seen on camera footage taking from a food truck with a sawed-off shotgun.
“The first thing that crossed my mind were my two children,” said one food truck worker, Alberto Garcia.
He added that the suspect said that he would shoot him if didn’t hand over the money. He knew that the suspect might really shoot him as he had already fired a weapon at another worker prior to getting into the taco truck. That worker wasn’t hurt.
Benavides-Cornelio’s bond was set at $250,000.
