A man was arrested after he fatally struck an 8 year old riding his scooter in a Dallas apartment complex parking lot Monday.
The incident happened shortly after 7 p.m., on the 3600 block of Dilido Road when officers responded to a crash involving a child and a suspected drunk driver.
The child was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Miguel Martinez, 30 remained at the scene until officers arrived.
Authorities indicated that Martinez was inebriated and also had a child under the age of 15 in the car with him at the time of the crash.
He was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter and driving while intoxicated with a child under 15.
