29-year-old Kristofer Erlbacher, from Iowa, has been given a life sentence in prison after murdering his friend.

Authorities say that on December 17, 2020, Erlbacher used his truck to hit Caleb Solberg, 30, in the town of Pisgah. He then left the scene, came back, and ran over Solberg twice.

Erlbacher and Solberg had been having drinks at a bar with someone else earlier that evening. However, their fun ended when Erlbacher put mayonnaise on Solberg’s food. This made Solberg upset, and a fight started.

Then, Erlbacher dialed Craig Pryor, Solberg’s half-brother, threatening to set Solberg’s house ablaze and shoot him. Pryor drove to the scene of the occurrence where Erlbacher ran into his vehicle and hit Solberg.

Solberg could be heard crying out to his brother after he was struck but before he was run over repeatedly.

Erlbacher left the scene, but his truck eventually broke down on him.

On Monday, Erlbacher was given his punishment after being found guilty during a bench trial in December. He had stated that he was drunk when the incident occurred, and he didn’t mean to kill Solberg.
