Volunteer Firefighter Sexually Assaults Sixteen-Year-Old Girl, 15 Times In 17 Days

30-year-old Thomas Gerald Golightly is a volunteer firefighter in Deer Park, Texas.

Golightly has been charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child and sexual assault of a child.

Authorities say that he raped a young girl many times. She then worried that she may be pregnant.

Documents note that the 16-year-old girl reported the allegations to staff members at her school. The police were then contacted.

Golightly is a part of the Southeast Volunteer Fire Department in Houston. He was apprehended by authorities in the suburb of Deer Park.

Prosecutors have stated that the girl recounted 15 various sexual assaults in 17 days. The alleged incidents took place between December 18, 2021 and January 5, 2022.

During a court hearing on Wednesday, prosecutors stated that the assaults were violent with deadly weapons involved. This included a knife being held to the victim’s throat and an attempted strangulation.

Golightly is currently in a Harris County Jail on a $175,000 bond.

If he posts bail and is let out, he may not have any contact with the victim. Furthermore, the only minor that he is permitted to be in contact with is his 10-year-old, disabled son.

Golightly is set to appear in court again on February 28.
