A man was shot and killed at a Sams .99 cent store Saturday during a carjacking.
Officers responded to a shooting call on the 700 block of Ann Arbor and when they arrived they found Thomas Dewayne Scott,43 unconscious in the parking lot with a gunshot wound.
He was transported to a nearby hospital where he died from his injuries.
According to reports Scott left his vehicle running and unlocked while he went inside the store and when he returned to the vehicle the suspect had entered and attempted to drive away.
The victim yelled for the car to stop and the suspect got out of the car shot the victim and fled the scene before officers could arrive.
The shooting remains ongoing.
