An investigation is underway after a Mesquite store clerk was shot during an attempted robbery over the weekend.
Officers responded to a shooting/ robbery call Saturday afternoon at the Howdy’s Express store located on the 1100 block of Pioneer Road.
Upon arrival they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to an area hospital with non life threatening injuries.
According to police the unidentified suspect walked up to the store clerk demanded money and then fired at least one shot before fleeing the scene.
At this time no suspect(s) have been arrested. No further details have been released regarding the suspect.
The investigation remains ongoing.
