9.6kviews

Amanda Stott-Smith, 45, had once been given a life sentence in prison for throwing her two children over the Portland Sellwood Bridge in Oregon. On Sunday, she died.

Officials at the Coffee Creek Correctional Facility say that Stott-Smith was discovered deceased in her cell. Her cause of death isn’t known at this time.

In 2010, Stott-Smith was given a life to at least 35 years in prison for throwing her 4-year-old son and 7-year-old daughter off the bridge.

Her son did not survive; however, her daughter did.

When the incident occurred, Stott-Smith said that she committed the act to get back at her estranged husband.

An autopsy is expected to be conducted to determine Stott-Smith’s cause of death.
