On Wednesday, a pastor in McComb, Mississippi, shot his wife at a hotel.
The incident occurred at Hampton Inn, along I-55, near Cheyenne Dr.
Both Danny Prenell Jr., 25, and his wife, the victim Gabrielle Prenell, 27, suffered gunshot injuries. She sustained wounds to her abdomen and arm. Both were both taken to medical facilities.
Danny Prenell Jr., the pastor of Bright Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, in Pineville, LA, inflicted a gunshot injury upon himself. This was after shooting his wife, authorities say. He is said to be in stable condition.
“I may not be perfect man, but I will always be a family man,” Prenell Jr. wrote on a Facebook post a few days earlier. It also contained a picture of him, his wife, and children, all posing for a picture at the same hotel.
Reports indicate that Prenell is also an ex-deputy. When he is released from the hospital, he will be facing several felonies.
The couple’s three children are said to have witnessed the shooting. They have been placed in CPS custody.
A motive for the shooting is unclear; however, an investigation is continuing.
