Over the weekend, a post office employee shot and killed his boss during a dispute. Authorities say that the worker then suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound and crashed into a small business in a strip mall.
Around 10:30 p.m., on Sunday evening, officers responded to the scene of a suspected active shooter at a post office, located southeast of downtown Chattanooga, Tennessee.
The worker, identified as Brian Simmons, 27, is said to be the person who shot his supervisor, Cody Ranson, 30. The establishment wasn’t open at the time of the occurrence.
Officials have confirmed that Simmons died by suicide.
An official cause of the dispute isn’t known, but an investigation is continuing.
