A Bronx, New York, rapper, Lil Tjay, was shot early Wednesday, in New Jersey. Emergency surgery was needed.
The rapper’s current condition is unknown after the occurrence in the city of Edgewater.
The Bergen County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two 22-year-olds who were injured at 14 The Promenade, at 12:08 a.m., but didn’t name either victim.
Officers discovered a 22-year-old man with several gunshot injuries. The other victim was found at an ExxonMobil station with a gunshot injury.
Both victims were transported and treated at a hospital.
On Wednesday morning, investigators could be seen checking out a red Dodge Durango that had a bullet hole in the driver’s window. They were also inspecting a blood-stained towel.
Lil TJay, Tione Jayden Merritt, had an album launch in 2019, called “True 2 Myself.” The album debuted at the No.5 spot on the Billboard Hot 200 album chart. The project featured other rappers like Lil Wayne and Lil Baby.
On Tuesday evening, Tjay had posted a message to Instagram.
“Just because you’ve been around a person doesn’t make you entitled to the fruits of that person’s labor. Envy Is At An All Time High Be Safe Otchea.”
