Sachse Police take down an armed man after an officer is shot in the head during an unrelated call for service.
Two Sachse Police Officers responded to the Medpost Urgent Care parking lot off State Highway 78 early Friday morning at around 12 a.m.
Unbeknownst to the officers, a man armed with a shotgun entered the scene and walked up to the driver’s side of the patrol car. The man then fired his gun through the window, striking an officer who was sitting in the driver’s seat in the head.
The second officer then deployed his service weapon and successfully hit the suspect.
Both officers were taken to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect was also transported to the hospital and is undergoing surgery. His exact condition has not been released at this time.
