Two teens who were fatally shot in a vehicle near downtown San Antonio over the weekend have been identified.
Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified one of victims as 14-year-old Edgar Menchaca, who died from a gunshot wound to the neck. The second victims was identified as 15-year-old Edgar Rojas, who died from a gunshot wound to the head.
San Antonio Police say the fatal shooting happened Saturday night around 2:30 a.m.
Menchaca called 911 and told operators that he had been shot in the neck. Officers arrived to the scene and found two young teens in a parked vehicle suffering gunshot wounds. First responders arrived and pronounced Rojas dead at the scene.
Menchaca was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Investigators are putting pieces together and working to determine if the shots came from inside the vehicle.
No arrests have been made at this time.
