Second Parent Comes Forward, Stating Child’s Braids Were Pulled Out Of Head At La Petite Academy Day Care

A parent has stated that their child’s hair was pulled out at a La Petite Day Care, in Norcross, GA. This is the second time that a parent had made this claim.

During an interview, Juley Cetoute displayed a picture of her son’s scalp. The photos show a huge bald spot in his head. The mother says that braids had once been there.

“You can see the red follicles where they have been removed,” she said.

The mother says that she noticed the bald spot when she picked her one-year-old son up on March 24.

“I noticed that his scalp, his hair had been pulled from his scalp. He had braids coming from the middle of his hair down to his ears,” Cetoute added.

The mother stated that she asked the school several times what had happened.

“One minute the school teachers said that he did it to himself. When I asked for the incident report, the incident report states they don’t know what happened.”

Previously, another similar incident happened at one of the day cares. A one-year-old girl’s hair was pulled out after she got caught in a cubby at a different La Petite location, in the same week.

The Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning is looking into the matter at the Norcross day care.

La Petite Academy stated that they reviewed the incident and didn’t find any evidence of wrongdoing by its staff.
