Texas Father Arrested After Keeping His Son’s Skeletal Remains In His Kitchen For Four Years

A Texas father is in jail after police found what is believed to be the skeletal remains remains of his son in his kitchen.

On Tuesday March 29, New Boston police responded to a welfare check call on the 1200 block of S. Merrill.

Upon arrival they were met by David McMichael, 67 which was the father of the victim, Jason McMichael.

Officers asked David about Jason and that’s when he told officers his son died in May of 2018 and his remains were stored in the kitchen.

David was arrested at the scene and charged with abuse of a corpse without legal authority. He is being held in the Bowie County jail.

An autopsy has been ordered and the body was releases to Mid-South Transport and taken to the Southwest Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas.

The investigation remains ongoing.
