Texas Man Sues Walmart For $100 Million Or Free Shopping For Life, Claiming He Was Racially Profiled

Roderick Jackson, of Waskom, Texas, has filed a lawsuit against Walmart for the second time in three years. He is seeking $100 million in damages or free unlimited shopping at any of their stores for the rest of his life.

The two handwritten complaints that were filed stated that he is suing Walmart for an occurrence that happened at a store in Omaha, Nebraska, in March 2021. The first complaint from 2021 is similar to his most recent complaint.

Reports indicate that Jackson is suing for Civil Rights violations based on race/color. The complaints didn’t provide extensive details as to why Jackson filed the lawsuit but stated that it is in regards to the “false pretense of shoplifting.”

Not only is Jackson looking for money and shopping spree, he also wants Walmart to pay all court costs in connection to the suit.

A spokesperson for Walmart released a statement.

“We do not tolerate discrimination of any kind. Mr. Jackson’s allegations are almost identical to a lawsuit he filed against our company in 2021 that was dismissed. We intend to defend the company against the allegations once we have been properly served and will quickly ask the court to dismiss any claim that are without merit.”

In the 2021 complaint, Jackson filed a lawsuit against Walmart over the same accusations, stating that he was racially profiled and falsely accused of a crime which led him to being taken into custody.

The complaint notes that Jackson experienced “emotional stress and pain from the handcuffs.”

At first, Jackson was seeking $100 million and “a huge credit for future shopping.” However, he later modified the complaint to seek $175 million in damages.

  1. Me and my husband went to a walmart in Alabama a couple years ago and were ignored while standing at the deli counter until another employee came up and said “we dont serve your kind” they then laughed about it like it was funny… i was so angry and taken aback by it that i cried… never occured to me to sue them but for walmart to essentially say that didnt happen to that man bc they dont tolerate discrimination is out of line bc it’s definitely tolerated in their stores

    1. You should reach out to him and turn it into a class action suit. Im sure there are more people they have done this too.
