Toddler Dies, 4-Year-Old Hospitalized After Ingesting Oxycodone; Mother and Boyfriend Charged

A 1-year-old boy has died while a 4-year-old remains in the hospital after the children ingested Oxycodone inside their home.
Police responded to the scene in the 200 block of Richardson Court.
They arrived a little after 9:30 pm on September 6.
They joined in with helping the Nashville Fire Department and EMS in reference to the call involving the two children.
Firefighters and EMS had to perform CPR on the children after the two found the drugs on a bed  and ate them, according to police.
EMS rushed the children to the hospital.
The mother of the children, Jorese Howard and her boyfriend Kameron Harris-Brooks are both facing a number of charges.
The charges are Involuntary Manslaughter and Child Endangerment.
As well as, possession with intent to sell/deliver a schedule II controlled substance.
The couple is being held at the Nash County Detention Center.
Howard has a bond of $50,000 while Brooks has a bond of $226,000.
Brooks has other charges pending against him of larceny of a firearm and possession of a firearm convicted by a felon.
