Two Shot in Dallas, Including 13 Year Old, After Intervening to Help Their Neighbor

Two people were shot in a Southeast Oak Cliff neighborhood Tuesday morning.

25-year-old Marlon Perkins was arrested after he allegedly attacked his mom at her residence on Happy Canon Drive in Oak Cliff. According to police, two neighbors, a 13-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man, intervened to try and help the woman.

Shortly after, at around 7:30 a.m., Perkins retrieved a handgun and shot up their home, destroying windows, the vehicle parked out front, and striking both victims.

The 13-year-old boy, who was shot in the leg, and the 20-year-old male were both taken to the hospital for treatment of their gunshot wounds. They are both in stable condition.

Perkins is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, possession of a controlled substance, deadly conduct, unlawful possession of a firearm, and burglary assault.
