An arrest warrant was issued for a Dallas police officer Friday.
The Dallas County District Attorney’s office obtained an arrest warrant for Senior Corporal Melvin Williams.
Williams is wanted for a misdemeanor assault that occurred on May 30, 2020.
He has been with the department since June 2006, he is currently assigned to the Tactical and Special Operations Bureau.
Williams has since been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
He is expected to turn himself in.
