1.4kviews

A grass fire spread quickly to evergreen bushes in Oklahoma City. The incident occurred close to a Chick-fil-A restaurant right before heavy winds spread the blaze to cars in the restaurant’s parking lot.

On Monday, February 21, close to 1 p.m., authorities say that a “light haze of smoke filled the restaurant” as the fire crossed the location near Interstate 40 and MacArthur Blvd.

13 people were evacuated from the Chick-fil-A and checked out for smoke inhalation by responding firefighters. 3 people were sent to a medical facility for treatment. Authorities haven’t said if those injured were workers or patrons.

The fire department said that 10 employees’ cars caught on fire. A recording of the occurrence reveals firefighters working to put the fire out as some cars were a total loss.

The Chick-fil-A restaurant has been shut down temporarily.
