On Thursday, 47-year-old Danny Masterson, the star of “That 70s Show,” was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison for sexually assaulting two women over twenty years ago at his residence in Hollywood Hills.

Masterson didn’t show any emotion when his sentence was read to him in court.

Four months ago, Masterson was found guilty of forcible rape at a retrial that took place in Los Angeles. He had initially been charged with raping three women.

Prosecutors had stated that Masterson drugged the women’s drinks in order to rape them. Then, he used his position in the church, that the women attended also, to avoid punishment for years.

The accusers had said that they were reluctant to file charges because of the church of Scientology has strict guidelines against public involvement with members’ concerns.

Masterson had been apprehended in June 2020 and had been out of jail on a $3.3 million bond. He had pleaded not guilty to the offenses and has maintained his innocence.
