An ex-teacher in Montgomery County, Maryland, is said to have sexually assaulted at least one student and has turned herself in to authorities.
Melissa Curtis, 31, is accused of abuse by a male victim who said that the incidences occurred in 2015 when he was a student at Montgomery Village Middle School. He stated that the two engaged in sexual acts when he was 14 years old and in the eighth grade. Curtis had been 22 years old at the time.
An investigation started on October 5, 2023, and Curtis surrendered to authorities on Tuesday.
Documents reveal allegations that the abuse happened in a classroom, a car, the victim’s mother’s residence, and at the home of Curtis’s mother. It was also stated that Curtis had given the boy alcohol and marijuana.
On October 31, an arrest warrant for Curtis was obtained. She is facing 15 charges, including sexual abuse of a minor and several counts of third and fourth-degree sexual offenses.
The investigation is continuing as investigators work to determine if there are more victims.
