The former Wichita County deputy who was facing 11 charges for sexual misconduct has been arrested for the 3rd time and charged with 2 more.
Brett Brasher, 50, whose now additionally charged with promoting and soliciting prostitution, is jailed on a $120,000 bond.
According to court documents, Brasher inappropriately touched a female inmate and sexually harassed her and three others while serving as a deputy in 2021.
He was charged with 8 counts of official oppression involving sexual harassment violating the civil rights of a person in custody and two counts of violating the civil rights of a person in custody.
The recent prostitution charges come shortly after prosecutors visited the women’s prison unit in Gatesville where they interviewed a former Wichita County inmate. The woman, who is listed on the indictment as a victim, told prosecutors that Brasher and a bondsman told her they’d bond her out of jail if she had sex with them.
The charges were added and Brasher was subsequently arrested. His first trial date is set for February 27, 2023.
