In 2018, after six years, ex-Fox4 meteorologist Jennifer Myers left the news station, based in Dallas-Forth Worth, to become a weathercaster for Oncor Electric.

Myers was often seen on Fox4’s Good Day with former co-anchor Jenny Anchondo.

On Monday, Myers took to social media to express her feelings regarding the recent death of another ex-meteorologist on the station, Ron Jackson. Jackson died on Saturday at the age of 67. His career spanned 35 years. In 2014, he retired from Fox4, following health concerns.

“For the past five years, I have been holding on to pain, anger, and scars from someone who sexually harassed me. And I recently learned he died,” Myers wrote on her Facebook page.

“That person was Ron Jackson, a man with many fans who was widely respected and adored. Still, when I showed up to do my job, I was met with sexual comments and inappropriate actions that disgusted me. Like leaving his soiled underwear on my desk or showing me photos of his penis. My only choice was to laugh it off,” she added.

Myers says that many of her male colleagues and managers ignored what was going on. This was because it was ‘Ron Jackson, the icon.’ She says that several individuals heard Jackson tell her to ‘sit on his face.’ However, no one said anything.

Since revealing what happened to her, Myers stated that over 20 women have contacted her. They have discussed the sexual harassment they suffered at the hands of Jackson, as well. Three of those women were students as Jackson was their professor at a university. The women told Myers that they had reported the inappropriate behavior. But, nothing ever came of it, she said.

Myers says that she decided to say something now because she is realizing that her voice does have power. This is a feeling she hadn’t felt before. She added that sharing her story has been a huge relief.

Now, Myers is urging anyone who may be dealing with a situation with someone like a Ron Jackson to talk to someone who will hear them out or go higher up in the company. She encourages women to take back their power.

  1. Why didn’t you come forth when he was alive? He’s gone and can’t speak for himself. Not saying what happen was right. Bringing shame on a deceased person gets you or the other women nothing.

  2. Shameful indeed – he needed the counseling . She did the right thing: if she reported the long-supported odd icon, she would have lost her good meteorological position.
