Ghislaine Maxwell Guilty Of Sex Trafficking Underage Girls

1.8kviews

On Wednesday, Ghislaine Maxwell was found guilty of helping underage girls be sexually assaulted by the late money manager Jeffrey Epstein.

The jury deliberated on a verdict for five days before finding Maxell, 60, guilty on five out of six charges. One of the convictions include conspiracy to entice minors to travel to engage in illegal sex acts.

Maxwell could receive decades in prison for her crimes. She didn’t seem to show any emotion behind her face mask as the judge read the verdict.

In July 2020, Maxwell was apprehended, a year subsequent to Epstein being arrested on child sex trafficking charges.

She is the first person that was charged in relation to Epstein abusing teen girls, besides him. The incidents are said to have happened at his properties in the U.S. and London, mostly in the 1990’s.

Another trial is set to take place after Maxwell supposedly lied under oath in a lawsuit filed by one accuser. She faces a perjury charge for that although prosecutors haven’t determined if they will try that case.

Maxwell’s sentencing date hasn’t been set as of yet.
