Kanye West’s “Donda 2” Won’t Qualify For Billboard Charts

“Donda 2,” by Kanye West, isn’t eligible to be placed on Billboard’s music charts.

Billboard has stated that the album was released only on his stem player; therefore, the album won’t be considered. They say that the stem player can be used for other reasons besides listening to music. Thus, it is thought to be similar to a bundle package.

Albums with merchandise aren’t eligible, but the publication is monitoring the audio player and how it is progressing over time to see if a change may be made in the future.

“Donda 2” is Kanye’s first sequel. He had told fans before it was released that they wouldn’t be able to get it on normal streaming services.

“’Donda 2’” will only be available on my platform, the Stem Player. Not on Apple, Amazon, Spotify, or YouTube. Today’s artists get just 12% of the money the industry makes. It’s time to free music from this oppressive system. It’s time to take control and build our own,” West had said.

He later revealed that as a result of his decision, he earned $8.6 million on the stem player.
