Xuming Li, of Tampa, Florida, has been charged with several offenses. This is after he is said to have injected chemicals into his neighbor’s apartment.

On June 27, Li was apprehended and charged with aggravated stalking, battery on a law enforcement official, and three counts of battery with a dispersed chemical agent.

Authorities say Li used a syringe with liquid which he injected into a neighbor’s doorway on several instances.

Umar Abdullah, his wife, and his 10-month-old daughter lived next door to Li.

Authorities say that all three of them suffered from shortness of breath and eye and skin irritation.

Li was charged with battery of a law enforcement officer because when the officer went to the location, he was exposed to the substance and suffered from skin irritation.

For over a year, Li, who is a Ph.d. chemistry student, had complained about noise that had been coming from the victim’s apartment.

When questioned, Abdullah said that he put a hidden camera inside of a plant near his doorway. This was after a strong odor in his residence wouldn’t go away permanently.

Police noted that Hazmat testing at the location showed the chemical substance to be a combination of Methadone and Hydrocodone.

Li is expected to be in court again on Dec. 5.
