A 29-year-old man who refers to himself  as the “joker,” covered in white paint, threatened  deputies with a crowbar in Milton, Florida.

Anthony Moreno is facing charges of three counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.

The incident happened close to 9 a.m. Sunday, on highway 87 south, near a Best Western hotel.

Reports indicate that Santa Rosa County deputies were contacted in regards to a suspicious person. Someone had stated that a man with white paint on his face was pretending to throw a crowbar at their car.

When authorities arrived on the scene, they found the man they identified as Moreno. He is accused of being aggressive and threatening officers with a crowbar.

It is stated that deputies attempted to talk the man and provide him with food and drink if he handed over the crowbar. However, more threats and talks about the government came, making it their last encounter.

At some point, deputies were able to get Moreno to put down the crowbar and apprehend him.

In their report, officers say that Moreno was covered in white paint throughout his whole body. This was even underneath his clothes. He told deputies he was covered in the white paint because he is the “joker.”

It was revealed that Moreno hadn’t taken his medication in 10 years, and he was cited for trespassing at the Best Western the day before this incident.

Moreno is currently in the Santa Rosa County Jail. His bond was placed at $15,000.
