Nike Products At Foot Locker Will Be Downsized

2.9kviews

It has become evident that Nike items aren’t as easy to find as they used to be.

Now, Foot Locker is getting ready to downsize on their Nike products.

Last week, Foot Locker announced that no vendor will have over 60% of their products in their stores.

In 2020, Nike had 75% representation, and in 2021, they had 70%.

“This change reflects Nike’s accelerated strategic shift to direct-to-consumer and Foot Locker’s ongoing brand and category diversification efforts,” the CEO of Foot Locker said.

In order to fill in the gap, Foot Locker will use more items from brands like New Balance, Puma, and Crocs.

Nike’s goal is to provide customers with the best experience, by utilizing a more direct-to-consumer business method. They will be determining stores or parts of stores that only contain Nike products.

Prior to now, Nike has pulled their items from Dillard’s, Macy’s, Urban Outfitters, Olympia Sports, Zappos, and DSW locations.

There are more than 2,900 Foot Lockers in the country.
