The Dallas Police Department is mourning the death of a fellow police officer.
On July 6, officers responded to an assist an officer w/ ambulance call after an off duty officer collapsed in a parking lot after work.
Apparently an apartment employee noticed the man on the ground and called 911. The employee performed cpr until other officers and Dallas Fire and Rescue arrived.
The officer was transported to an area hospital where they pronounced dead.
At this time no further information has been released and this story will be updated as it evolves.
The officer was assigned to Southwest Patrol and has been with DPD for 31 years.
