25-year-old Kenjuan McDaniel has been taken into custody after authorities say that he killed a man then wrote about it in a song.

On August 29, authorities with the Las Vegas Police Department apprehended McDaniel, and he was charged with open murder with a deadly weapon and violation of probation. He is jail without bond.

Police say that on September 18, 2021, officers answered to a call about a man being shot. Detectives then discovered the victim, Randall Wallace, with a gunshot injury to the head. He was declared deceased at the scene.

Bystanders told authorities that they had seen a Black male running from the area in an unfamiliar white vehicle when the shooting happened. Although they didn’t believe that Wallace was the target, the witnesses said that they didn’t know who the assailant was. On the other hand, a month after that, the same bystanders stated that they had more details but didn’t want to be identified as a snitch.

At some point, authorities were able to get more information, leading to McDaniel being named as the suspect.

On July 17, 2023, an investigator saw a YouTube video uploaded by “The Biggest Finn 4800” called “Fadee Free,” that contained seemingly damning lyrics.

“I be the reason why he dead, we still taunt him when he die, not the reasons he’s dead, so celebrate the reason why his momma cry.”

A review shows the lyrics line by line in regards to what McDaniel is talking about in the song, taking the responsibility for the killing of Wallace, police say. This also contained details that were never publicly stated in connection to Wallace’s murder.

McDaniel was apprehended at his residence last week.
