Richardson Man Charged With Intoxicated Manslaughter After Running Red Light In Plano

Plano Police Officers responded to a traffic accident on Jupiter Rd and E. Plano Pkwy.

Upon their arrival they noticed a 2006 red Chrysler Town and Country van and a 2019 white Hyundai Elantra had collided.

After further investigation, they determined the driver of the Chrysler ran the red light and crashed into the Hyundai. The driver of the Hyundai, 39-year old Marcus Jarod Gerald, did not survive his injuries.

The driver of the Chrysler, 34-year-old Angel David Velasco of Richardson, has been charged with Intoxication Manslaughter.

The investigation remains ongoing by the Plano Police Traffic Unit.
