735views

After DNA evidence was analyzed, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has stated that a man was apprehended, on Thursday, in relation to a 2005 murder.

Charles Wright, 56, an Inglewood, California, teacher, has been connected to the killing of  21-year-old Pertina Epps in Gardena.

The department’s “unsolved Unit” used recent technology to look back at DNA and fingerprint evidence from the crime scene, authorities say.

Prior to finding a DNA match, police stated that they didn’t think that the suspect and the victim knew each other.

On April 26, 2005, Epps was found dead, in a carport, in the 2700 block of 141st Place. She had been strangled.

At the time of the murder, an investigation was performed and all evidence lead to a dead-end.

Wright was apprehended on a murder charge and was released on a $1 million bail.

His arraignment is set for June 28, 2022.
