Store Owner Accidentally Shoots 9 Year Old Girl Inside Mall As She Waits To Take Pictures With The Easter Bunny
Last week, 9-year-old Ava Chruniak was inside of Victor Valley Mall, in California, getting ready to take pictures with the Easter Bunny.
Ava was then shot after the owner of a store attempted to fire his gun at suspected shoplifters.
Relatives say the girl has now been released from the hospital.
Ava had been waiting in line to take her Easter picture when she was hit. “She has three gunshot wounds. Two are in the arm down here, and one is up here, and this one fractured the bone,” her grandmother said.
“She can hear a little bit out of one ear, and to her she thought it was a bomb. The…bullet missed her cousin’s head by close to an inch.”
Because Ava never got to take those pictures, the nonprofit organization ‘A Future Super Hero and Friends,’ did something just for her. The Easter Bunny made a special visit to her home. He gave her several gifts and then showed himself to be Marvel Comics antihero Deadpool.
The owner of the shoe store Sole Addicts, Marqel Cockrell, 20, is in custody after he fled to Nevada. He is facing at least one count of attempted murder.
