A parole officer in Colorado Springs, Colorado, was fatally struck in a hit-and-run accident as she was on duty last week.
The wreck occurred when three parole officers were trying to contact a suspect so that he could be arrested for a felony warrant.
The suspect, 41-year-old Justin Kula, was named as the person who ran over two of the parole officers with his SUV on Thursday, prior to leaving the scene.
On Friday, one of the officers that was run over, Christine Sandavol, died.
Sandoval had been a state parole officer who used to work for the sheriff’s office for 15 years.
A statewide search for Kula was conducted, and he was later found and placed in the El Paso County Jail with no bond.
Authorities say that Kula will be charged with manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, and third-degree assault on a police officer.
