Woman Fired Over Viral TikTok, Showing Her ‘Harassing’ Black Fisherman

A white woman in Georgia, who works as a therapist, has been terminated from her place of employment. This comes after she questioned a Black man fishing in the lake, close to her residence, whether he resided there.

On Tuesday, Anthony Gibson posted the incident on TikTok.

Records show that Gibson’s father is a registered homeowner in the gated community where the matter took place. According to the community’s guidelines, Gibson was allowed to fish in the lake without a license because he was a guest of a resident.

In the recording, which has more than 7.5 million views, the woman named Tanya, walked over to Gibson and his friend, asking, “How are you?”

After the two greeted her with a ‘hello,’ she asks, “Are you guys residents in any way?”

When the men asked if they were bothering her, Tanya said that she just had to ask.

After the friend told the woman not to talk to her, she proceeds to say, ‘This lake is for residents only. So…’

Tanya adds that she will take a picture of their license plate and give it to the right people.

“Ok, so this is what I go through. This is the third person. I’m in my own neighborhood, and a white person came and bothered me while I am fishing. Another white person bothered me while I was fishing,” Gibson says as he filmed himself and the incident.

As the woman walked away, Gibson called out, “Hey, don’t leave now! Do you live here? Where’s your address? This is unbelievable.”

After asking the woman her name, he then recorded her license plate.

Now, Sea Glass Therapy, Tanya’s place of employment where she was a freelance team member, has parted ways with her.

‘Sea Glass Therapy is a place of acceptance, healing, and inclusion of all people regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or background,’ the company wrote on Facebook.

‘We stand against discrimination of all forms. We have terminated our business relationship with the Independent contractor, Tanya, in order to uphold our values and standards…,” the statement continued.

Gibson has recorded prior encounters with local residents. He and his friends have stated that the affluent white neighborhood can’t deal with the fact that a group of Black people live among them.
