Woman Sentenced After Confessing To Having Sex With 13-Year-Old Boy And Having His Baby
31-year-old Andrea Serrano, from Colorado Springs, Colorado, confessed to having sex with a 13-year-old boy. She then had his baby. Now, Serrano will serve time in jail as a result of a plea deal.
On Thursday, Serrano was sentenced to 90 days in jail. She will also be on sex offender intensive supervised probation for 10 years to life.
In July 2022, Serrano was apprehended after authorities confirmed information from a tip that the woman had a relationship with the teen.
“I feel like if she was a man and he was a little girl, it would definitely be different. They would be seeking more. I feel like because he is not a woman, they are not. They are having compassion for her,” the mother of the victim noted.
Serrano apologized to the victim, his relatives, and her children during the trial.
The judge in the matter stated that jail time would be a punishment although there was a plea agreement. This was because of the message that the community would perceive if Serrano wasn’t jailed.
Beginning next week, Serrano will start to serve her sentence after she was able to get a seven-day stay to ensure that someone would be caring for her children.
