Ms. Elizabeth Francis, 114 years old, of Houston, Texas, has become the oldest living person in the U.S. This has come after the death of 116-year-old Edie Ceccarelli in California.

As of now, Francis is the fifth oldest living person in the world.

Although she has resided mostly in Texas, Francis is a native of Louisiana, born in 1909. When her mother passed away, she had her five brothers and sisters went to various residences. Elizabeth moved to Houston and lived with her aunt.

Not only has Francis lived a long life, but her sister, Bertha Johnson, lived to see 106 and died in 2011. The sisters are named as one of the sibling pairs with the oldest combined age ever.

“If the Good Lord gave it to you, use it. Speak your mind. Don’t hold your tongue,” Francis stated when asked for life advice.

Additionally, she attributed her long-lasting life to God.
