On Thursday, a 17-year-old was arrested and taken into custody by British police, in London, on claims that the teen hacker leaked a lot of incomplete Grand Theft Auto VI footage online.
The unidentified suspect is said to be responsible for the huge Rockstar Games hack that occurred last week. He may also be responsible for hacking Uber Technologies as the taxi service stated that they had been in touch with the FBI. This was after a security breach that they believe was executed by the same hacking organization that attacked Rockstar.
The teen’s apprehension came as a result of a joint effort between the UK’s National Crime Agency and the FBI.
The incident that occurred will probably be the industry’s most high-profile data breaches ever as over an hour of Grand Theft Auto 6 development footage was published on Sunday. It was done through an anonymous user who put in on the GTA Forums website.
The person said that they got the leaked footage from an internal Slack channel and added that they were responsible for a recent Uber data breach, as well.
Uber says that it thinks that the culprits are connected to a hacking group named Lapsus$ which has had alot of activity this year. They are thought to be involved in other cyber-attacks against big technology businesses like Microsoft, Samsung, and others, too.
