A 17-year-old up and coming New York rapper was shot and killed by a group of men wearing ski masks in broad daylight.
On September 25, Jordany Aracena, 17, was walking down Beekman Avenue when five males in ski masks and dark clothing approached him.
According to reports, five masked men were sitting on an electrical box waiting on Aracena. When he appeared one of the men in the ski masks opened fire striking him in the chest.
The suspects fled the scene before officers could arrive.
Aracena was rushed to Lincoln Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
City councilman, Oswald Feliz, who is also a family friend said Aracena was very new to drill music and may have said the wrong thing in a song. His mother on the other hand believes he was just a victim to a robbery gone wrong.
At the scene police recovered two 9 mm shell casings but did not found the murder weapon nor have they made any arrest.
This investigation remains ongoing.
