An investigation is underway after a vehicle collided into a light pole while trying to flee from Mesquite police.
On November 27, around 10:40 p.m., officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a Dodge Charger. The driver of the vehicle was traveling northbound on 635 when he exited Gross Rd and collided into a light pole.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene and pronounced the 18 year old driver dead at the scene. There was a 17 year old female passenger in the vehicle and she was transported to an area hospital. Her condition is unknown at this time.
