A 2 year old in Arlington is dead after finding a gun inside the home and accidentally shooting himself.
On April 5, around 12:30 a.m. officers responded to a shooting call on the 5300 block of Pocassett Drive. Upon their arrival they found a woman holding her young child that appeared to have a possible gunshot wound.
Emergency crews quickly transported the child to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
It was said that the toddler found the gun in his older brothers room and accidentally shot himself in the face.
The Dallas Medical Examiner lawyer identified the child as 2 year old Rio Carrington.
No charges have been filed at this time but the investigation is still ongoing.
