A driver for Tony Stewart Racing, Ashlea Albertson, died on Friday in what is said to have been a road rage accident, in Indiana.
Albertson had been a racer of TQ Midget cars, and her last race was on Aug. 11.
She had been a passenger in a GMC Terrain where a 31-year-old man had been operating the vehicle, and a 21-year-old male was driving a Black Malibu.
Both vehicles had been accelerating, trying to get in front of the other. The Malibu then got over into the lane of the Terrain. The Terrain lost control, turned, and the two vehicles crashed into each other, authorities say.
When the Terrain rolled over, Albertson was thrown from the vehicle.
An investigation is continuing, but it isn’t known if criminal charges will be filed.
No seatbelt on a racecar driver? Sad.
She wanted to die. Roadrage and no seatbelt. Driver or not. Stupid games win stupid prizes. Rip.
