After performing an operation across the city to cease street racing, Dallas Police apprehended 81 people. Additionally, 43 people received citations.

When answering to various locations, they observed different clusters of people coming together. Police say these people were blocking roads so that drivers could perform tricks in their cars on Friday and Saturday.

The ones taken into custody range from 17 to 43 years-old. 16 spectators got tickets and 27 other tickets were given.

The police also said that they took 7 guns into their possession and towed 35 automobiles.

The police department is trying to stop the street racing. In July, 59 tickets were issued and 96 misdemeanor apprehensions were made in connection with street racing and speeding actions.

They say these actions are being done in communities all around Dallas.

To add, officers have been dealing with challenges when responding. In fact, some spectators have fired paintballs and fireworks in their direction when arriving on the location.
